The Feeling of Good, Healthy Well-being.
This ancient massage modality balances the whole body and reduces blockage to energy flow. Through a blend of gentle pressing and stretching, muscle and joint pain decreases along with mental and emotional strain giving a pleasant sense of well-being while improving muscle tone and joint flexibility. As with other forms of massage, the main reason people get Thai Massage is for relaxation and relief of musculoskeletal pain. Touch being a basic need of humans, Thai Massage can provide a nutritive benefit. Why a mat? Why fully-clothed? Gentle stretching is a key component of Thai Massage, and is difficult to do with the height of a massage table and the sometimes complicated draping that go along with it. Leverage is greatly improved with floor work; the therapist can get their entire body weight into a technique instead of having to rely on muscular effort. Falling and losing balance are also reduced. This modality is performed while the client is fully clothed. Please wear something comfortable loose, or stretchy like you would work out in.
